This will be our first price increase in 2 years for Epic Armoury Australia, and will allow us to remain in line with the international prices for Epic Armoury. A new catalogue will also be released in the first quarter of 2019, featuring many new products.
Unfortunately, price changes are largely beyond our control as the RRPs for Epic Armoury products are actually set in Euro, and we try to remain price comparable with other Epic Armoury distributors around the globe. During 2017 and 2018 the Australian dollar has dipped quite dramatically against the Euro.
In the interest of transparency we can say that throughout the year we discussed raising prices but decided it would be better for the still fledgling LARP community in Australia if we absorbed what we could of that price shock. This is unfortunately unsustainable as, where the $AUD currently is versus the Euro, as well as increased costs in global shipping, we are now selling to our wholesale customers at a loss.
As of January 1st, we will be raising RRPs by approximately 8% so that we can continue to sell to our wholesale customers without making a loss. The prices you see listed on the Epic Armoury Australia site, and in the 2019 catalogue, are a conversion to Australian dollars with GST and import tariffs added from the RRP in Euro. Please note that your local retailer is free to charge what they wish and prices may differ from store to store.
Any advance orders at the 2017/2018 prices will remain valid at the purchased price where purchased before prices are updated on our website.
