Showroom to Re-Open

How’s everyone doing right now?

We’d like to start this message with a quick thanks to all of you for sticking by us during this incredibly trying time. A number of you have shown that you don’t need to be physically present to enjoy LARPing and we’ve been amazed by the creative projects coming from many people within the LARP community at this time, from regular gear construction projects to entertaining videos to running streamed, remote tabletop sessions in kit with props and in-character acting.
It’s been absolutely epic to see all the local communities rally and stand together.

If you’re looking to get involved in one of the projects, we and several of our customers are trying to get a “Passing the Hit” video together and you’re welcome to join.

With the announcements made by the Victorian State Government this week, we are now able to continue operating with a bit more certainty.

We are happy to say that we will be re-opening the store to the general public next week! *
*Appointments are necessary

*However, there are some conditions.

  1. There remain a limit of 1 person per 4m2 of floor space. This allows us to have a maximum of four (4) customers in the showroom at a time. To ensure that we do not go above this, we will require all customers to make appointments to visit.
Appointments will be in 30 minute blocks per person. i.e. if you are coming in a group of four, please book for up to two hours. You are likely to need that time if you are trying on armour – see point 3
You can make an appointment by phone (03 8524 4806), email, or messaging us on Facebook. Please be aware that other customers may already have booked the time that you want. We ask you be flexible. The first appointment block of the day is at 11:30am, and the last is at 5:30pm.

  2. All customers are strongly urged to use hand sanitiser upon entry.

  3. We will no longer be squiring customers in store.
We apologise for the inconvenience but squiring requires to be in extremely close physical proximity for a prolonged period of time. If you require assistance trying on armour, we request that you bring a close friend or family member you trust to be in good health to assist you. Our staff will be on hand to provide guidance if you are unsure how to get the armour on.

  4. We will no longer be allowing customers to try on clothing in store.
Again, we apologise for the inconvenience. If you were needing to try on clothing for size, we recommend you check your measurements against our sizing charts.

  5. If you run into people, please maintain social distancing protocols.
We’re all excited to see other human beings IRL. We all miss our friends. But we request that if you are going to socialise that you do it outside and with correct distancing – we recommend the width of the car parking spaces.
We know it’s harsh, but there are steep fines for individuals and businesses that don’t manage to maintain this.

Some of you may be asking why we’re deciding to open when larger LARP groups can’t operate. While no LARP we’re aware of has started back up yet, and restrictions mean larger battlesport games are unlikely to be back on for some time, we can start with the more intimate, RP heavy, experiences such as parlour and Nordic LARPing. Getting back to the roots, as it were. If you’re unsure how to go about something like that, we’d be more than happy to point you in the right direction.

We’re really looking forward to seeing you all again.

So stay safe, and we’ll (eventually) see you on the battlefield.
