Raider Belt Shields

You grunt a command to the scouts, and they sneak off into the underbrush with their spears in hand. Your hunting party searches the woods--not for food--but for the rush and excitement of finding a fresh elven kill.

Soon the scouts return with news of an elven encampment ahead, and your fellow orcs share toothy, eager smiles. Dressed in your Raider Armour, you set out into the night in the direction of unsuspecting prey.

Epic Armoury’s Raider Belt Shields are a set of tassets that can be paired with your own leather belt to act as detachable tassets- these robust rust covered steel plates efficiently protect the the front of your thighs and their detachable nature ensures unbridled--but protected--movement. With a Dark and rusty appearance to give it a more evil and brutish look, these bracers would work perfectly with either Northern Marauders or Pillaging orcs.

The Raider Armour is embellished with leather straps and antique-finished metal rings on the front, which can be used to hang trophies. The backplate features a riveted metal plate that allows for flexibility of movement--and looks eerily like a beast’s flesh. Made of 1 mm thick galvanized mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

INSPIRATION

• Based on orc costuming, which is a creature whose earliest references are found in Old English and Anglo-Saxon sources, such as in Beowulf and in 16th century Italian folktales
